If your dog's fur is matted, we can try brushing it out in sections where possible. But if the tangles are severe, the most humane option would be to shave off the knots. This requires extra time and care since tight mats are very hard to get out. The groomer may charge an additional fee at their discretion if a lot of brushing or clipping is necessary.
-
Can be added to any groom when we arrive for the appointment or requested when scheduling.
-
If we find fleas or ticks during your pet's grooming session, we will add a treatment bath. The shampoo destroys fleas and ticks on contact. However, we highly suggest getting flea and tick preventative medication from your veterinarian and treating your home and any other pets to prevent reinfestation as the bath treatment only lasts for 5-7 days.
-
This will apply at the groomers judgment if your dog displays aggressive behavior that makes the grooming process extremely challenging and time-consuming. We aim to provide a positive and relaxed experience, so we will always prioritize the dog's needs first. We can typically finish the grooming, but, in rare cases, we may have to stop if the dog is very resistant.
-
Hand stripping involves manually removing dead and loose fur from your dog's coat through plucking. This process is not painful since the hair is ready to be removed. Hand-stripping applies directly to wire-coated breeds. This can be done with just our fingers or using specialized tools. The purpose is to take out the old hairs so that new, healthy fur can grow in and replace what was removed. We will perform hand stripping if the dog’s fur is suitable and the owner requests prior to the appointment so we can plan accordingly for time.
-
If your dog does not need a full groom, we can just trim the nails for $50. Each additional nail trim is $30 when added to another dog’s groom or nail trim at the same appointment.
-
Upon arrival for your scheduled appointment, if there is no one present and we are unable to access the dog, this will be added to the grooming fee.
